Sustainability
We grow responsibly
Caring for the land is non‑negotiable at duGonz. From the moment we planted our first vines, we committed to sustainable farming methods that protect soil health and raise grapes of the highest quality.
Soil‑First Farming
Healthy vines start underground, so every decision begins with the dirt beneath our boots. We rely on sustainable practices such as drilling in multi-species cover-crop mixes that form natural wild flower borders and attract beneficial insects while discouraging pests. Simple physical barriers, like perimeter deer fencing and individual vine cartons, reduce chemical deterrents, and our team touches each vine 12-15 times a season to manage growth by hand rather than rely on sprays. The result: richer organic matter, reduced erosion, and vineyard resilience built the old-fashioned way.
Water & Energy Accountability
These benchmarks will appear here as soon as our first full‑season data set is complete, letting you track our progress year after year.
Our Community Footprint
Our vineyard isn’t fenced off from its neighbours. We welcome visitors to walk the rows, see the blooming cover-crop borders alive with bees and ladybugs, and learn what sustainable viticulture looks like in real time. As we grow, we’ll keep sharing metrics, milestones, and lessons learned because transparency leads to stronger community ties and better wines.
